This league was organized by LawStrings Management and supported by Senior Advocate Sacchin Puri.
The idea was to give lawyers a space to meet and socialize outside of court, their offices, or regular professional gatherings. The first edition had eight teams and several categories like men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's singles, and women's singles.
The league brings together sport, networking, and community building.
LawStrings presented it as a way to encourage lawyers to stay fit and develop stronger bonds with each other. The opening ceremony had Justice Vidya Bhushan Gupta (Retd.), a former judge from the Delhi High Court, and Senior Advocate Dr.S.Muralidhar also present.
The first season had teams like Smash Squad, Legal Pickle, Net-workers, Lex Saviours, Amicus Aces, Supreme Strikers, Pickle Pleaders, and Sood's Smashers.
These teams were connected to legal professionals, including senior advocates and practicing lawyers.
Smash Squad, which was owned by Senior Advocate Sonia Mathur, won the Gold Cup and did not lose a single match.
Legal Pickle got the Silver Cup and Net-workers earned the Bronze Cup.The winning team included Nachiketa Vajpayee, Sparsh Duggal, Rishabh Rela, Pallavi Kumar, Sanjivani Pattjoshi, and Angad Baxi.
The first tournament was held in Mehrauli, South Delhi, giving the league a proper sports venue to start.
The event at REPPP allowed legal professionals to play in various pickleball categories and meet colleagues from different parts of the legal community.
This league shows a new way for lawyers to connect professionally.
It's not just about conferences, seminars, or court work.Instead, it's a fun environment where people can stay active and build relationships while competing in a controlled sport setting.
The idea was to create an unofficial space where lawyers can form professional bonds while playing a structured game.
LawStrings has been promoting the league as a mix of sport, fun, wellness, and community building.
The second season of LPPL in 2026 introduced India's first pickleball player auction aimed at lawyers.
It was held on May 3, 2026, and the matches were played on May 9 and 10, 2026.
In Season 2, the league included lawyers from law firms, practicing advocates, in-house counsel, and those from different legal areas.
Eight franchise owners took part in the auction-based team selection.Instead of real money, players were picked using a virtual-points system.
The second season had eight teams: Chandhiok Aces, Hariharan Hurricanes, Pickle Pleaders, Legal Picklers, Pahwa Panthers, Amit Chadha Lions, Legal Legends, and MO-HITTERS.
At the end of the tournament, Pahwa Panthers won the Gold Cup, MO-HITTERS got the Silver, and Amit Chadha Lions took the Bronze. The matches were played at SpeedUp Club, Khan Market, New Delhi.
The continued growth of LPPL shows how sports can offer more chances for lawyers to connect.
The structure of the league encourages lawyers to take part as players, team members, and franchise owners while still keeping a professional environment.
Adding a dedicated player auction in Season 2 made the event more organized and expanded its reach beyond a regular single sports event.
The start of India's first pickleball league for lawyers in South Delhi shows an interesting mix between legal professionals and organized sports.
The first 2025 edition of the LPPL introduced the concept, and the 2026 second season added new elements like a player auction, eight franchise teams, and more participants.
By gathering lawyers in non-traditional work environments, the LPPL has become a platform centered on sports, fitness, networking, and community activities within the legal field.
